After seeing Reece in action with her photography, I wanted to know more about her passion. From the short moment I witnessed, she looked so at ease with it. She truly loved what she was doing, so she should strive to make it into a career.

I pulled up to my second spot for our date as Reece curiously looked at the area, wondering where we were.

“Were are we?”

“This is another place that I thought you would like,”

She smiled as I led her to a secluded patio. I’d discovered the restaurant one day while leaving Suds, so this was the first time coming here too.

“I saw this place when I was leaving work a few weeks ago. I thought since you love the outdoors, then this would be perfect for you.”

Reece smiled. “Well, this is nice. I’m already loving it,”

We went to the hostess booth and she led us to our table. I pushed back Reece’s chair as she thanked me before sitting down.

The hostess gave us menus, we looked through them when I suddenly looked over at Reece. She was looking at her menu, completely oblivious to me staring at her. She slowly looked up and saw me smiling at her.

“Okay, you’re getting kind of creepy now,”

“Creepy, how?”

“You’re always smiling.”

“Nothing wrong with that. Besides, why wouldn’t I be smiling when I’m sitting across from a sexy woman?”

Reece’s face turned beet red as she looked down at her menu.

“Can I ask you something?”

Reece looked up. “Ask away,”

“Have you ever been in love before?”

Reece put down her menu and let out a slow breath. “I may have been, but I knew it wouldn’t last. I’m picky when it comes to men and relationships.”

“Oh really, I wouldn’t had guessed.” I sarcastically said while giving her a curious grin.

“Oh please, you knew that from the moment you met me; that’s why you were trying to fuck me on site.”

I laughed. “And people say I’m full of myself. You’re no different.”

“I’m not full of myself; I’m just cautious about who I give myself to.”

“Including me?”

“Most definitely you.”

“Ouch,”

“You knew I was going to be honest.”

“That’s one of the things that I like about you.”

Reece smiled. “But I guess I don’t try to get attached to anyone, because I feel the relationship wouldn’t last. I have been proposed to as well as been with a lot of great men, but I just couldn’t see myself with any of them.”

“There had to have been something off if you didn’t want to be with them,”

Reece nodded. “It wasn’t the guys. They were great; it was just me. I guess I don’t like to let people in,”

“Why, though?”

“Mainly because I don’t want to get hurt if I give my heart to someone, that’s why I do the hurting first so I don’t have to go through the heartache and pain.”

“Wow,”

Reece tilted her head. “Why are you saying wow?”

“Because to a certain extent, you are like me.”

Reece stopped talking and I looked at the pond nearby. We sat in silence for a few minutes as I listened to the music playing.
